Rabbi Iah Pillsbury is an educator, artist, and chaplain. She teaches and guides groups of all ages, officiates in all life-cycle ceremonies, engages in community building and organizing, and produces ketubot and other ritual text and artifacts. Rabbi Pillsbury has served communities all over Ohio as a Hillel rabbi, chaplain, academic, congregational rabbi, and religious school director. While a Dr. Norma and Donald Stone Fellow at the HUC-JIR Center for the Study of Ethics and Contemporary Moral Problems Rabbi Pillsbury continued her work on the intersection of gender, violence, and rabbinic literature, with particular emphasis on the Book of Esther. Rabbi Pillsbury is a graduate of the University of Chicago and was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati Campus. After more than a decade in the midwest, she is excited to get back to her western roots and honored to be serving Temple Beit Torah and the Colorado Springs Jewish community.
